Human Spaceflight:

2002 – Shuttle fleet grounded for several weeks after cracks were found in Hydrogen flow lines from the MM External tank to the OV engines

Military and Classified Programs:

1964 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Corona 82, Thor SLV-2A/Lockheed Agena D, SLC3W, VAFB – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

1995 – LAUNCH: USA 112, MM Titan IVA(401)/MM Centaur, LC40, CCAFS

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

2007 – New mission given to LM Stardust spacecraft (fly by Comet Tempel 1 and observe comet and Deep Impact crater) – Stardust NExT

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite programs:

NONE

Commercial Programs:

1962 – LAUNCH: Telstar I, Thor Delta, LC17B, CCAFS – Significant space milestone – first commercial communications and television satellite- Built by Bell Labs. Three later generation Telstar satellites were built by GE Astrospace/Lockheed Martin.

The first photo today is of a significant historical event, the launch of Telstar I in 1962.  Another photo shows the spacecraft configuration during final assembly.
