1965 – Martin Marietta selected to build X-24A lifting body – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

1993 – LAUNCH: STS-54 (Endeavour), LC39B, KSC – 5 person crew, TDRS-6 deployment. CREW: John Casper, Donald McMonagle, Mario Runco, Gregory Harbaugh, Susan Helms

Military and Classified Programs:

1962 – LAUNCH FAILURE: Lockheed Discoverer 37, Thor/Lockheed Agena B, SLC1W, VAFB – Agena failure

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite Programs:

NONE

Commercial Programs:

NONE

Test, ICBM, FBM programs:

1960 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A1, LC29A, CCAFS – MILESTONE: 65 years ago

1964 – LAUNCH FAILURE (One of two): Lockheed Polaris A2, SSBN-623, ETR 

1965 – USAF announces 150 ICBM sites (Minuteman, Atlas, Titan) will be deactivated that year – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

1973 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris C3, SSBN-645, ETR
