1963 – Apollo Pad Abort Test 1 conducted, using Lockheed Launch Escape System, White Sands, New Mexico

1997 – LANDING: STS-95 (Discovery), KSC

2007 – LANDING: STS-120 (Discovery), KSC

Military and Classified Programs:

1959 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Discoverer 7, Thor/Lockheed Agena A, SLC1W, VAFB – MILESTONE: 65 years ago

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

1967 – LAUNCH: Surveyor 6, GD Atlas SLV-3C/Centaur, LC36B, CCAFS

1996 – LAUNCH: LM Mars Global Surveyor, Delta 7925, LC17A, CCAFS – extensive Mars mapping mission

1960 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A1, LC25A, CCAFS

1962 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas F, LC11, CCAFS

1967 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas D, 576-B2, VAFB – Last launch of an Atlas D missile

1971 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A2, EAG-154, WTR

1983 – LAUNCH (2): Lockheed Trident C-4, SSBN632, ETR

Other:

1971 – MM Mark IV Monorail (Red) goes into service, Walt Disney World
