1966 – Gemini XI splashes down, Mid-Atlantic, USS Guam

Military and Classified Programs:

1967 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Corona 120, Thorad SLV-2G/Lockheed Agena D, SLC1W, VAFB

1976 – LAUNCH: Classified mission, MM Titan 24B, SLC4W, VAFB

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

2017 – Cassini mission to Saturn ends with planned entry into the atmosphere of Saturn

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite programs:

2018 – LAUNCH: ICESAT-2, ULA Delta 7420, SLC2W, VAFB – Last flight of Delta II, Last flight of a launch vehicle in the Thor family

Commercial Programs:

Test, ICBM, FBM programs:

1960 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A1, SSBN599, ETR

1962 – 551st squadron for silo-lift GD Atlas F operational at Lincoln AFB, Nebraska

1962 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A1, EAG-154, ETR

1964 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas D, 576-A1, VAFB – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

1973 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Poseidon C3, SSBN657, ETR

1993 – LAUNCH: MM Peacekeeper, LF02, VAFB

Second, I have included the last photo taken by the remarkable Cassini spacecraft before its planned entry into the atmosphere of Saturn in 2017.  The photo shows “moonrise” of the moon Titan above the atmosphere of the planet Saturn.   Photo Credit: NASA.
