Human Spaceflight:

1969 – SPLASHDOWN: Apollo 10 mission splashes down – MILESTONE: 55 years ago

2021 – LM and General Motors team up to develop next-generation lunar rover for Artemis program

Military and Classified Programs:

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite programs:

NONE

Commercial Programs:

1977 – LAUNCH: Intelsat 4A F4, GD Atlas SLV-3D/Centaur, LC36A, CCAFS

Test, ICBM, FBM programs:

1958 – American Arma Bosch contract for inertial guidance systems was transferred from Martin Titan I program to GD Atlas program, as Atlas program was ahead in development.  Titan I would use Bell Telephone radio guidance systems through the first four operational launches.

1958 – LAUNCH: Martin Bold Orion, B-47 (aircraft), CCAFS

1961 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas E, LC13, CCAFS

1966 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas D, 576-B2, VAFB

1979 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Poseidon C3, SSBN631, ETR – MILESTONE: 45 years ago

2004 – LM begins THAAD manufacturing in Troy, Alabama – MILESTONE: 20 years ago (THAAD launches are not included in the events)

2009 – LAUNCH: LM Trident D5, UK S29, ETR – MILESTONE: 15 years ago

On this day (May 26) in 2021, LM announced a partnership with General Motors to develop the next generation of human lunar rovers.  

On April 3, 2024, the Lunar Dawn contract was awarded to the partnership team of Lunar Outpost, Lockheed Martin, General Motors, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and MDA Space (this will be listed as a new event for the 2025 update).
