1962 – MM Titan II liquid-fueled engine test fired along with a solid propellant rocket motor to demonstrate the capability for a Titan III booster (Aerojet-General)

1965 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Corona 96, Thor SLC-2A/Lockheed Agena D, SLC1E, VAFB

1966 – LAUNCH: Classified missions, GD Atlas SLV-3/Lockheed Agena D, SLC3E, VAFB

1983 – LAUNCH: Classified mission, GD Atlas H, SLC3E, VAFB

1983 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A3, UK S27, ETR

2010 – LAUNCH (2): LM Trident D5, SSBN738, ETR

The photo today is an example of a Polaris A3 missile, similar to the five launched by SSBN599 (USS Patrick Henry) on this day in 1974.  The photo was found in the archives of the National Museum of Naval History and is owned by the National Archives/Released into the Public Domain.
