Three milestone events (5 to 65+ years ago)

Human Spaceflight:

1977 – ALT-8, Captive Inert Flight #5, Enterprise Shuttle/Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, Dryden Research Center, Edwards AFB – 30,000 feet.  Approach and Landing Test Program. 

1995 – LAUNCH: STS-67 (Endeavour), LC39A, KSC – 7 person crew, astronomy experiments.  Crew: Stephen Oswald, William Gregory, Tamara Jernigan, Ronald Parise, Wendy Lawrence, John Grunsfeld, Samual Durrance.  MILESTONE: 30 years ago. 

Military and Classified Programs:

NONE

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

1965 – LAUNCH FAILURE: Surveyor SD1, GD Atlas/Centaur (Atlas type not specified), LC36A, CCAFS – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite programs:

1968 – LAUNCH: RCA Transit O18, Scout A, SLC5, VAFB

Commercial Programs:

1991 – LAUNCH: GE Astrospace Astra 1B (also Meteosat 5), Ariane 44L, ELA2, Kourou, French Guiana

Test, ICBM, FBM programs:

1964 – LAUNCH: Lockheed Polaris A2, SSBN624, ETR

1965 – LAUNCH: GD Atlas D, 576-A3, VAFB – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

1993 – LAUNCH: MM Peacekeeper, LF-02, VAFB
