Human Spaceflight:

1999 – LANDING: STS-103 (Discovery), KSC – MILESTONE: 25 years ago

Military and Classified Programs:

1964 – MM Titan IIIB program approved by USAF – MILESTONE: 60 years ago

Exploration and Interplanetary Programs:

NONE

Earth-Monitoring and Civil Weather Satellite programs:

NONE

Commercial Programs:

1995 – LAUNCH: MM Echostar I, Chang Zheng 2E, LC2, Xichang, China 

Test, ICBM, FBM programs:

1961 – Martin Titan II captive-fired for the first time at test stand near Waterton facility, Denver

1963 – 374th squadron, MM Titan II ICBMS, transferred to SAC, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas

NONE

The photos today shows the remains of Titan test stands at the Waterton facility near Denver.   On this day in 1961, a Titan II was captive-fired for the first time at a test stand at the Waterton facility. 

I have also included a chart from the Glenn L. Martin company (from the Library of Congress) showing the layout of the facilities at Waterton.  These photos and diagrams are available from the public domain National Archives/Library of Congress.
